Thrift Store Finds ... part 2

In part 1 of my recent thrift store shopping, I showed you the Tupperware I found.  In part 2, I'm going to take you in a totally different direction and show you what I found and what I plan to do with them ...

... lace curtains!
I brought them home, washed them and hung them out to line dry.

The two panels on the left of both lines are now hung on the windows of our bedroom.

The remaining panels will be used to make a table skirt, herb drying bags and gift bags.

I plan to start stitching on the table skirt, herb drying bags and gift bags on my next sewing day!

They are all in excellent shape and I got all of them for $12 plus tax!

I love thrift store shopping!

There's more ... part 3 will be coming soon so stay tuned!

  3. Lace curtains! They even look beautiful on the line! They are lovely as curtains but also so many uses.
I am watching for nylon curtains, the old ones with embroidered floweres dotted over them... my daughter has palest blue ones in her bedroom. The light coming through them is so pretty. Op shops are the best! xxx

    1. Annabel, I keep an ongoing thrift shop shopping list so that whenever I'm near one I am prepared. The nylon curtains with the embroidered flowers sound beautiful. Good luck in finding them!

    1. Fiona, I am pleased with the curtains I hung on our windows and I can't wait until my sewing day to start stitching on the others and turning them into useful things for my home.

  6. That reminds me of some pretty curtains I saw last week in our op shop. I thought about getting them but didn't. I wonder if they are still there? I like the idea of using them for other things like you mentioned. I guess I will be going back there after the weekend :)

Those curtains look lovely hanging on the clothes line, so,so pretty.

    1. Not every thrift store I visited had pretty lace curtains, I hope the ones you saw are still there when you go back!

  8. What a prize Patsy! These just look heavenly fluttering on your clothesline! Lace curtains are perfect for so many pretty projects and even buying them at the haberdashery is inexpensive compared to the same amount of 'real' lace. You did so well! Can't you just see these made up into all sorts of gorgeous things? I'm drooling! Thanks for sharing this post at Five Star Frugal. Love, Mimi xxx
