My Christmas Present ... part 1

My dear husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and it didn't take long for me to answer him.  I wanted a swing for my front porch.  (Can you tell that I had been thinking about this for a while!!!!) He said okay and set to work.

I thought you might like to follow along and watch him as he builds it himself.

(We found the pattern FREE online!)

Most of the lumber we already had on hand.
He has had to purchase a few things, but not many!

I am so excited!
I have wanted a porch swing for such a long time ... even before I had a porch to put it on!

Stay tuned for further 'progress' reports!

  2. Congrats Patsi! I know you'll enjoy that! Funny thing, when we started building our house I put a cypress one on lay away for our front porch. Then when we did the patio out back I moved it around there since it was shady. Porch is on the west and mega hot. Then later hubby and daughter had me one made and spent 150.00 on it getting it made and it's not cypress. Well now we have closed in our front porch and don't have a place for it. I told folks on my FB page I had one and told what it cost to be made and that I only wanted 45.00 for it and I could even get em a pic but I had no takers. Was floored no one wanted one for such a good price.

  4. I'd love a porch swing too! I need the house with a porch first, though.

  6. What wonderful gift! I wouldn't have guessed that but I love porch swings! Now I am envious about your dinner bell and your porch swing, what could be better than that? This is such a great present. Also a present of love. Xxx

  7. I have a small front porch. I would love a white wicker one. I had a swing growing up and even on summer rainy days we spent many days on it. My brother asked for it for his home this year after our mom passed. He too has a covered front porch to hang it.
