2016 ... A Look Back!

Here we are at the last day of 2016 and I find myself in a reflective mood, 2016 was an eventful year … it was a hard year … it was a good year … and it was a year full of surprises, both small and large!

So, what did I learn?

I learned or was reminded that …

God is still in charge!

Tragedy brings out the best and the worst in people.

Hurricanes don’t always go where they’re projected to go!

Preparedness rocks!!!

I have the best readers!  Your care and support this year have made a difference in my life.  Thank you to everyone who sent gifts, made donations, purchased things using my affiliate links, prayed, gave words of encouragement or just showed up to read what I write … you made a difference!

God can be trusted and He is faithful to His Word.

There is a positive side and a negative side to everything; we get to choose which approach we take.

I love crocheting and making grub roses and learning how to do ‘new to me’ things!

When I don’t keep up with my exercises or don’t rest enough, my manageable chronic pain becomes unmanageable.

Patience is a virtue and it had lots of opportunities to grow in my life in 2016!

I was blessed in 2016!

Looking back, what one word would I use to describe 2016 … Eventful!!!!

Okay, it’s your turn …

What did you learn looking back over 2016?

What one word would you use to describe 2016?

She looketh well to the ways of her household … Proverbs 31:27

  1. Patsy 2016 was a year of extremes for our family. We had the birth of our beautiful Granddaughter, followed quickly with my husband spending 2 months in hospital where he was very close to not coming home.
The last 5 months have been all about getting him better. Each day there are improvements.
We are both looking forward to a New Year and new beginnings.

    1. Jane, every time I hear an update on Bluey, I am so thankful! And a new granddaughter, what joy! Happy New Year!

  2. Hi Patsy,
This was a crazy year for us. I felt like I wasn't as focused as I'd like to be. Usually I am very organized and prepared (stocked up). We did have about 4 months with very little income so our pantry brought us through but suffered. Thankfully it has been getting built up as God is good and provides.

This year I'm learning to "quit" a few things that don't fit with my focus for the year. By the way my key words for the year are Deliberate and Focused.

My focus is on God, my husband, my self (I had a a hard time with this one but health demands it and hey, I'm worth it!), Friends and Family and of course my home!

I enjoy your blog very much and will look forward to 2017 for both of us. Take care.

    1. Crystal, I love your words for 2017! Due to health issues I too need to focus on myself and you're right, when that is not the norm it is hard to not feel a little guilt. However, like you said, we are worth it! Happy New Year!
