Fall Bucket List 2017

I think fall is my favorite season!  Our summers are so hot and humid and fall is such a relief from the heat and humidity ... and who doesn’t love all the sights and sounds of this time of year.  Let me just say again that I love fall!

With that thought in mind I came up with a ‘Fall Bucket’ List (after reading Laura’s over at Harvest Lane Cottage) to help me get the most out of this season.

The dates for the 2017 fall season are September 22nd - December 20th.

(I’ll be doing updates weekly to help make sure I’m being intentional about living my list.)

Decorate for fall  ... done!
  Eat ‘trick or treat’ candy
  Burn fall candles ... ongoing
  Make l0w-carb pumpkin cupcakes
Work on getting Christmas gifts wrapped and mailed if necessary
  Enjoy my front porch swing
  Read at least 3 books
Prepare and mail ‘fall treats’ for my grandbabies
Prepare ‘fall treats’ for the local little people in our lives
Enjoy the fall foliage and turning of the leaves
Go for a ‘fall’ walk at least once
 Visit the local pumpkin patch
 Purchase fall mums
 Purchase fall pumpkins  ... done!
 Enjoy our church’s fall festival
Finish the afghan I’m crocheting and snuggle under it
Enjoy soups and stews
Enjoy the cooler temperatures
Plant garlic
Pick up pinecones and make fire starters
Mail birthday gifts to two of my grandchildren

Do you have a 'fall' bucket list?

  1. Great list! And it prompted me to look at my own autumn goals. I've added visiting the apple orchard, making applesauce, apple pie, and individual apple tarts for the freezer (I'm a single-person household), and sleeping with the windows open -- need to air out the house after a hot and humid summer!

    1. If there were an apple orchard near us I would visit it too! Apple orchards just scream fall to me. Airing out the house after a hot and humid summer is a good idea and sleeping with the windows open is too!

  2. Yes I do and have already started it. I've been making applesauce from the apples from our tree, visited the apple orchard to pick apples for us and took some over to my parents in Montana on our Fall trip there and started decorating here at home. Still on my list are walking through the old section of the town my hubby grew up in and taking pictures of all the Fall leaves on the huge trees there, having a Fall picnic, taking my grandkids to pick out pumpkins at the local pumpkin patch, having coffee and dessert with my hubby at a local coffee shop once the college students go home on Thanksgiving Break ;), going to craft fairs to get ideas to recreate here at home and making all of our favorite Fall meals here at home.
