How We Plan to Start Earning Free Groceries and Other Pantry Related Items ...

That sounds like a title to a get rich quick scheme or some kind of gimmick doesn’t it?  I can assure you it is not!

I mentioned in this post that I had been chatting with Vicky from the Vicky Challenge about a fiscal fast that her family does twice a year.  I also mentioned that I had a ‘duh’ moment and realized that the some of the things she shared with me would be a way to get ‘free’ groceries and other items for my pantry.  So, I made a plan, got myself organized and got to work!

Here’s my plan …

Redeem Swagbucks that I earn for Walmart gift cards.

Earn Amazon/Walmart gift/CVS gift cards by using the My Coke Points program, Bing, and My Points.

Earn Amazon gift cards through my Amazon affiliate link . (This neither cost those who use my affiliate link anything nor does it increase the cost of the items.)

Earn cash back through my affiliate link at EBates.  (This neither cost those who use my affiliate link anything nor does it increase the cost of the items.)

Earn cash back by using Ibotta and Savings Star

Earn cash by completing Pinecone surveys when they are available.

I can conceivably see earning an additional $100/month which I will work hard to turn into $150/$200 per month by shopping sales, using coupons, price matching and shopping loss leaders.

How much time do I spend each day doing these things … 30 minutes to an hour.   I really don’t have any more time than that to commit right now.

None of these things will make me wealthy but they will supplement our grocery budget nicely!

I realize that this kind of thing is not for everyone, but then again … it is something that everyone with a computer and internet service could do!

Starting in March, I’ll be sharing what I get in ‘free groceries’ and other pantry related items using these tactics!  I’m up for this challenge, how about you?

Thank you for using my Amazon affiliate link when placing your Amazon orders.  I earn a small percentage that doesn't increase what you pay.

Earn cashback by shopping through EBates! (affiliate link)

Disclaimer:  Some of the links in this post are affiliate links.  This means that if you click on the link and place an order, etc I earn a small fee at no increased cost to you.  Thank you for your support through these means.

  1. Patsi,
I can't wait to see what you get! I know you'll do well. I don't have a lot to report this week so I'll pop back in and bundle all of my doings. I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. How exciting!!! I've heard financial advisors talk about multiple "streams of income" that may seem like small amounts but that, in truth, can add up to large amounts over time! Way to go!!! I still need to consider ibotta and saving star! Keep us posted on how his is going!!!

    1. gardenpat, I plan on doing a full report each month!

  3. Dear Patsy,
Vicky taught me to accept samples and rewards etc even of products you do not use as then you can trade them. Through reward systems (we have shopping loyalty type rewards but not coupons here) and also gleening, gardening, bartering, fishing, hunting... we can add free food to our pantries. Its pretty amazing really when we consider all the options. Who doesnt love free food?
I love this post and will be follwoing, with love

    1. Annabel, All the ways you mentioned are great ways to add free food to our pantries as well, the options are out there if we will just avail ourselves of them. Thanks for the reminder Annabel!

  4. Patsy, there is also a site called Receipt Hog. All you do is take a photo of your receipt and upload it and when you get enough coins you can get amazon gift cards or cash via pay pal. I'm just starting to try this I will let you know how it goes

    1. saundra dale, I'll check it out. Please let me know how it goes for you! Thanks!

  5. I''m all ears! I can't wait to hear all of your ideas.

  6. Patsy, such a great idea. How helpful blogs like yours would have been to me as a young mum back in the 1980s. There was no internet then and finding helpful books was difficult. I am not sure young mums realise how blessed they are to have all this information at their fingertips. Keep up the good work. You never know who is reading and is being inspired.

    1. Thank you Nanna Chel, your words are so encouraging to me!

  7. I look forward to seeing these posts and how well you do Patsy!
