Countdown to Christmas ... 12/12/2016

I've enjoyed lots of Christmas doings today ...

I opened my gift trunk and pulled all these party favors out and then got them ready for our church's ladies Christmas party that I'm hosting Friday night in my home.

All of these items were purchased on clearance at really ... I mean really good prices throughout the year and of course I already had the baggies and the ribbons!

My goal is to host this party without buying anything ... I think I can do it!

I also watched the Great Christmas Light Fight tonight!

Between wrapping the party favors and watching the Great Christmas Light Fight tonight, my Christmas cheer is runing over!

What did you do today on your journey toward Christmas?

A Working Pantry is more than just about food! It's about household items needed to keep my home running smoothly readily available when needed.  It's about keeping a gift trunk so that I'm ready for any gift giving occasion.  It's about a lifestyle.  It's about keeping my home and looking well to the ways of my household and it's about doing it all as frugally as possible.  I hope you enjoy what you read here.

  1. Have my fingers crossed your ladies Christmas night is a no more spend event. My Christmas cheer is high too. My parents drove for three hours today with my aunt, cousin and his daughter. These relies are from South Africa. I haven't seen them since my African Adventure 2 years ago. It was so lovely to host them. We went for a long walk on the beach, had a swim, Bluey had lunch ready to go when we got home. We went for a drive around our beautiful part of the world. They are now back in the car with Mum and Dad and have another three hours drive back to my parents home. It was a wonderful day.

    1. Jane, what a wonderful thing that you are getting to spend time with your family and let's give Bluey a good pat on the back for having lunch ready when you all got back from your outing! This is the stuff that Christmas is made of!

  2. ooo, me too. let us know how the party turns out and what all you did please. I wrapped ALL my presents and double checked everything. I did need to run out and get a couple more things, but I. Am. Done! Feels good. I buy all year long (thanks to you) so all the little things I get in December are basically stocking stuffers. I don't have, or go to, parties really, but I do get small gifts just in case, lol. Usually edible or I will just make something. Comes from having a good stocked pantry don't ya know! Thanks for all you do Patsy and have yourself a very Merry Christmas!!!

  3. Patsi.
Your favors are fantastic! The little touches really make things nice. One of my favorite things is the wonderful smells of Christmas baking and cooking. When it's cold out and you smell cookies baking or good food it is one of the best things in the world!

    1. Vicky, thank you! I agree, baked goodies are a part of Christmas and we'll be doing some of that when it gets nearer to Christmas.

  4. The baking has begun here. Two dozen red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting went into the freezer yesterday and bar cookies are cooling now to be cut and frozen. I have a goodie to bake everyday right up to Christmas and we will be well supplied for here and the neighbor cookie plates.
