Thinking Ahead to Next Year: Christmas Fabric

I'm already starting to see some pretty deep sales on some things that I use so I'm going to go ahead and start taking advantage of those sales, such as this Christmas fabric ...

The regular price for one piece was $6.98/yard and the price for the other was $5.98/yard.  Both pieces are 100% cotton and of good quality.  Both are partial bolts with one having 3.50 yards and the other having 4.19 yards.  The fabric was on sale for 50% off per yard and then I had a 30% off coupon on top of that which made me bringing home 7.69 yards for $17.58 before taxes.  When the math was done I paid $2.29/yard before taxes.  According to the receipt, I saved $32.71.  I'll take it!

I'll use this fabric for next year's Christmas sewing ... and that's just one example of how I think ahead, of how I strive to have what I need when I need it, without blowing the budget!

  1. Patsi, that is a very good buy. There are sales going on everywhere here in Australia too and I am sure there will be BIG Boxing Day sales as well. You will certainly be well prepared for next Christmas.

  2. You have inspired me no end--so I have begun to set aside funds to begin my own working pantry. I am purchasing totes for different items, such as gifts. I am also looking into buying different emergency items (batteries, lamp oil, etc). I used to do this a lot when I was in the mountains, but I got out of the habit when I got back to 'civilization'. I look forward to following you on Facebook.
