What I'm Reading: 2/6/2018

I'm still involved in the book study on The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder ...

I'm still researching herbal/essential oil/ homepathic things that will help in preventing the flu or lessening it's affects ...

I stopped in at the library and checked out this book one day when I had to be in town for an errand, The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio:  How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less by Terry Ryan.

... and I'm perusing seed and plant catalogs!

  1. I have read that book "The Prize Winner" and it is excellent. Enjoy. Nannie

  2. What a wonderful book Prize Winner is! I was fortunate enough to hear the author speak about her life and the book years ago- she was very interesting and charming.
When you finish the book I recommend the movie- it was excellent!

    1. Susan, I will try to find the movie to watch. It looks like a really good book and you got to hear the author speak!!!! That is wonderful!

  3. I finally figured out how to get the Powerless book for free on my Kindle-I didn't want to buy the unlimited subscription for $9.99/month. I could borrow it with my Kindle Prime Lending Library! I can have 1 book per month on that. So, that's what I did. I read it, and enjoyed it. Of course, when you read a book like that, you say "I would have done this or that" and compare your resources with theirs, and so forth. Every time the woman would with for an oven, I would think, "I with I could give her a cast iron kettle and teach her how to bake in it!" Thanks for the recommendation.
