Do-It-Yourself Door Decor!

I had a day off from 'shed repair duty' today because of the weather and I was feeling the need to do something different so, I pulled out this (I've had it for a while) ...

I got out my paint and set to work ...

I added these highlights ...

my husband drilled holes in two places at the top for me, I ran florist wire through the holes (because that's what I had), added a 'knot bow' out of scrap fabric and turned it into this!

I really like the way it turned out!

  1. I love it. Hope the storm on the east coast won't effect you. Happy Friday.

    1. Thank you Patti! We've had strong winds and the temps have dropped. It's been a cold and blistery kind of day, a good day to stay inside! Thank you for your concern.

  2. Hi Patsy and it looks lovely :) , did you also make the wreath too ?. They can be made out of plaited grape vines that are dried out and also perhaps other sturdy vines as well I would imagine.

I made bread or kitchen d├ęcor :) in the form of a bread bag made out of the single quilt cover pillowcase in the set I had here that I previously made our laundry and toilet curtains out of. By making this myself as we make large 1.25kg loaves in our bread making machine we saved $22.50 over purchasing one taking out fabric and other expenses.
