Making Lemon Ice Cubes

The later part of this week I've been battling an insect bite that went bad (I suspect a spider, but don't know for sure.)  One of the things that I did was drink fresh lemon juice in water to help cleanse my system of the toxins related to the bite.

I juiced the lemons and then froze the lemon juice in ice cube trays so that all I had to do was drop a cube in a glass of water, stir and drink.

When you're not feeling well convenience is the name of the game, or it is for me!

One more thing …

One thing I learned from my 'insect bite saga' is that when you're not feeling well it's hard to remember the things you know to do to treat the issue.  I had several of my online friends, who when they learned of my situation, helped me think and who made suggestions of ways to treat the bite.  Several of the ways I already knew but in my 'sick state' I just wasn't thinking.  For future use I have written down what I did along with the suggestions I didn't use.  The next time I get an insect bite I will be armed with written instructions of things to try and won't have to rely on my memory which may or may not be at the top of it's game!!!

I'm not 100% recovered but I'm so much better than I was!  Thank you to all those who came to my rescue this week!  You're the best!!!

  1. The lemon ice cubes is a great idea! I am so, so glad to hear that you are doing better. I have the some mental block issues when I get really sick but since I can check with kinesiology my husband just starts hauling out everything we have and making me check them. I am thankful for that since on my own I just sit there and be miserable.

  3. I'm so glad your getting better Patsy. Sometimes we can only think what to do when it comes to others but for us we are to sick to think. I love your lemon ice cubes.

  4. So sorry you weren't well but hopefully the worst is passed. Please take care.
I'm a bit lazier than you when it comes to lemons & limes. I slice them, open freeze them and put them in a ziploc bag so I can just pop one or two into a drink as needed.

    1. Margie, that's my usual way of freezing lemons, but since I have been sick I really wanted to get the full benefit of the amount of lemon juice that is in a cube.

  5. I hope you’ve recovered. I wonder if lemon essential oil would do the same.
