Book Review: Over The River and Through The Woods

This afternoon I was feeling in need of some rest so I grabbed a book off my book shelf and headed to a quiet place to read and rest.  This fictional book was a short read, just 74 pages, but what a read it was.  The book is titled “Over the River and Through the Woods,” by Susan Gregersen, The Story of One Family’s Survival of Economic Collapse.

A brief summary is that a husband and wife both lose their jobs in the same day followed shortly by the husband's unemployment checks being suspended.  The book goes through the hard choices the family had to make with them winding up at a farm that the husband’s parents owned.
When they arrived at the farm, even though the husbands parents were temporaril
y working outside the country leaving the house closed up and vacant for a while, they found everything they needed to get a good start on surviving the hard times they faced.
If you're concerned about possible hard times this book will give you a good place to start on some things you can do to prepare.

She looketh well to the ways of her household … Proverbs 31:27
