Making Holiday Potpourri

One of the things I want to do this holiday season is make holiday stove top potpourri.  I'll use some of it for my own personal use and will bag up some for gift giving.

My potpourri will contain:
cloves
star anise
lemon slices
dried orange slices
dried cinnamon sticks
dried cranberries

First, I need to dehydrate the lemon slices …
(slice lemons into about 1/8 inch slices and pat dry with a paper towel, then add to the dehydrator)

and the orange slices …
(slice oranges into about 1/8 inch slices and pat dry with a paper towel, then add to the dehydrator)

Here they are dried …
(all the other ingredients are already dried and ready for assembling)

Later in the week I'll assemble all the ingredients and make the potpourri gift bags.

  1. Thank you for this recipe and idea. I have lots of lemon and orange slices frozen just waiting to have something done with them!
