Our Winter's Wood

We're laying in a store of winter wood!

Normally we cut our own wood but this year with 2 hurricanes (Florence and Michael) a month apart and all that that entailed, we just couldn't get it done so we purchased it.

The first load arrived today with 2 more loads to be delivered later.

We love being able to have our wood heat as a back up should the power go out or should it get really cold.

  1. Hi Patsy and there is nothing like a good wood fire to warm you during the winter months and this is the sole form of heating for us here in the winter. We also heat our water on our slow combustion fireplace as well as do a bit of cooking in winter as well.

Speaking of firewood we moved 2 trailer loads of firewood that we cut and split out to our farmlet late last week that we cut as we have permission to access the sheds prior to settlement date in December. We haven't stacked it yet but that can wait until we get there. Going to have to cut more before next winter to top up supplies as well.

    Have a great week ahead.
