Summer Series 2019: Week 2

Week 1 can be found HERE.
Here we are at week 2 in our summer series and the first question we’re going to answer is, where to store our pantry items?  This is a good place to start with our questions because before we talk about what to store and how to store, we’ve got to have a place to store it.
Many of us don't have an official pantry room, or a basement, or a cellar or any other type of large area that could be designated as a pantry.  What are we supposed to do?  Where are we supposed to put our pantry items?  Does this mean we can’t have a pantry?

30 Day Preserving Challenge: Day #14 ... Soup Base

I had about a half gallon of cherry tomatoes I had been harvesting over a 3 - 4 day period and a few overripe tomatoes from the garden that needed to be used so I decided to preserve them.  Here's how I used a little of this and a little of that and turned it into something very useful …

Summer Series 2019: Week 1

Remember this post …
For those who have been followers for any length of time via my blog, social media groups or classes, you know that I’m all about the pantry.  Its importance can’t be stated enough!  The freedom it allows me to provide the best I can for my family in the most frugal way possible means so much to me.
Over the summer I plan to do a special summer series on pantry building, to do that though, I need to ask your help.  I have many years of experience in this area and what’s second nature to me, to others may not be.  You can help me focus my writing on what meets your needs by telling me …

30 Day Preserving Challenge: Day 12 ... Re-Canning Bottled Lemon Juice

Recently I purchased 4 bottles of lemon juice like the one you see in the picture below.  I know that it will take a while to use that much lemon juice (even canning as much as I do) and I didn't want it sitting in the plastic bottles long term, so I decided to re-can it.
