100 Day Sewing Challenge #2: Day 2

Did you think I had forgotten about this sewing challenge???   I hadn't, we've just been in a really busy season … but I'm back to it now!!

Here's what I stitched up …

I needed a gift for a couple who recently got married so I pulled out these cute little hand towels and turned them into hand towels that button onto an oven door handle …

then I packaged them up (along with a couple of matching hot pads) …

and wrapped them up using what I had on hand …

Do you see that cute little tag?  It came from Spring Creek Loft along with the decorative clothes pin I used to fasten it on with.

I was very pleased with the way it all turned out!

  2. Dear Patsy,
Thank you so much for the mention! I love how you packaged your gift. I also love towels that fasten onto the oven handle. It means John can't pull them off :)
I think it has been just as long since I have sewn! I have been busy with canning. The heat has finished off our garden now, but just yesterday we gleaned grapes from a business in town (with permission) and now I have enough juice for 3 batches of jelly, so that is next on my list. With this summer heat, I expect I'll be spending more time hiding inside and crafting :)

    1. Kelsey, I've got a big canning and preserving week going on this week. The heat is doing a number on our garden too so I'm trying to squeeze everything from it that I can. We have grapevines but the grapes won't be ready until August, then it'll be juice and jelly canning time! It's such a busy time of year and I love every minute of it! We don't have any little ones to pull towels off but as 'big ones,' we lay them every where and have to hunt them down or get a clean one when needed. This keeps the towel in one place and saves on the number we use!!!

  3. Those towels are so pretty and handy. Did you use regular hand towels or dish towels? I had a little time to play with my accuquilt cutting out. Started on trying to knit slippers. Nancy

    1. Nancy, they are dish towels. Good luck with your accuquilt and knitting your slippers. You're really increasing your skills!
