Weekly Goals: 6/23/2019

It’s the beginning of a new week and time for our Just One Goal check-in …

What was your 'one' goal for last week?

Did you meet it? Tell us if you did or didn't, we get encouragement both ways.

What is your 'one' goal for this week?

Last week my 'just one' goal was to finish preserving our garlic harvest … well …. I didn't get it done!  I had something going on every day that needed my attention and I just didn't get around to it.  The only explanation I have is that the week just got away from me before I knew it.  At any rate, I didn't finish preserving the garlic.

Instead of making this my goal again this week, I'm going to shift gears and set a new goal … canning carrots.  Let's hope I do better this week than I did last!!!

These are the carrots I'll be canning … wonder how many pints I'll get from them??  Care to guess?

(This is not a full bag, I needed carrots for a carrot cake and this is what's left.  Yes, I could have purchased just enough to make the carrot cake but the price of this bag wasn't that much more than purchasing just what I needed for the carrot cake would have been.  So, I bought this bag with the intention of canning the rest!)

What about you, how are you doing with your 'just one' goal?

  1. I'm guessing 10 pints.

My goal was to hem the 50 cloth napkins I have cut out. I got 13 done and I am fine with that number. I asked Hubby to bring the sewing machine downstairs since I can just sit down and do even one napkin as I have a chance. With the machine upstairs it just does not happen.

    1. Lana, that's one of the reasons I like having my little sewing nook in a small area of the dining room/kitchen/living room combined room. It's just so convenient to sew in snips and snatches of time!

  2. Hi Patsy we have weeks like that here where we plan to do particular things and due to unforeseen circumstances we never get it done either. As I always say it will be still there waiting for you when you get the time :).

Although I didn't set a goal for last week here our goal was to get up the 8 kangaroo garden enclosure posts and we have done that and firmed them around the base with compacted soil. We have also cut all of the galvanised pipes to size for the framework.

This weeks goal is to get the galvanised pipe framework up the top of the posts and bolted in.

Hope everyone achieves their goals for this week :) .

    1. Lorna, that's the way we look at our goal setting too, we work towards them, but sometimes they just don't happen. When 'it just doesn't happen' we accept it and either work around it or move on, we really try not to get hung up on what we can't do. It sounds like you all are making great progress on your garden enclosure.

  3. I had too goals for last week - get my living room & dining room tidied up - done - and then get some paperwork filed before I miss my deadline - not done but I have to the end of this week (hoping to be finished by Wednesday).
Then I can get back in the kitchen to work on a couple of things!

    1. Margie, first things first, sometimes it just has to be that way!
