Christmas Holidays: 12/14/2019

The mail brought us a gift or should I say gifts today!  The box we received was chalked full of all kinds of things, hubby got a Christmas tie (he loves wearing Christmas ties to work during the holiday season) and I got some wonderful 'crafted at home' lotion that I've already started using.  But that wasn't all that was in the box!  There were crochet ornaments, crafted ornaments, edible goodies and various other really special hand-crafted items.  We thoroughly enjoyed 'oooooooing' and 'aaaaaaing' over everything in it!  A very special thank-you goes to the senders … you know who you are!

I did some more sewing today!  During this break from pantry building (I'll get back to some serious pantry building in January.) I've been sewing almost daily.  Today, I again worked on clue #3 of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt for this year …  (I'm not finished with this clue yet!)

and I stitched up this red and white ticking throw pillow cover.  (I paired it up with my 'Believe' throw pillow and they are residing in a chair that sits in my kitchen!)

The embellishment came from the gift I received at our Christmas party for the ladies of our church on Saturday.

While on our outing Thursday one of the places we stopped was a Hobby Lobby store and I saw a pillow just like the red and white ticking one without the attached embellishment and it was also quite a bit bigger.  I knew I could stitch that up in no time so that's what I did today.

We got more Christmas cards in the mail today and they were from you, my readers!  Thank you so much!

I talked to my little granddaughter who got her grandma and grandpa box yesterday and she told me she was wearing her hair tie again today!  I love it when my grands like the things I make and send them!

I was able to face time with our youngest granddaughter today as well, she's still waiting on her box from grandma and grandpa to arrive.

As I sit and type this post we have a fire simmering in the wood stove and the tree is lite and showing off … tis the season to slow down and enjoy!
