Christmas Holidays: 12/9 and 12/10/2019

I was all set down and ready to do yesterday's post when we got a call about an emergency situation that we needed to be there for, so off we went.  By the time we got home it was way too late to even think about doing a blog post so, tonight I'll do two days in one post ...

Both days involved some traveling so we listened to Christmas music and sang along … most of the time.

We got home last night a little past midnight and believe it or not there were several houses that still had their outside Christmas decorations on, so we enjoyed them on our drive home.

Before the emergency call came in I worked on our grandpa and grandma boxes for our grands.  Some of the things included ornaments and piggy banks.  I put their names on the piggy banks and for the girl ones, I added a bow.

Hubby and I worked together and we finished up all of our Christmas cards.  When all is said and done we will have mailed or hand delivered close to 70 cards this holiday season.  (Over half of the cards have been or will be hand delivered.)

I've been wearing Christmas socks!

That about sums up these last 2 days, I hope you are enjoying your journey to Christmas!

  1. I am sure you were a blessing to those who needed you last night. Your piggy banks are adorable. It is so fun to send those packages off to the grandchildren!

We finally finished our decorating yesterday so now we can just enjoy. We listened to Handel's Messiah today. I love it!

My Dad fell four times in 24 hours and EMS transported him to the ER at 1:30 this morning. Now the hospice battle again between hospital personnel,my Mom and my sister. I do not know what the answer is but Mom is not going to give in and neither is Sister. It is a hard thing.

    1. Lana, I'm sorry to hear about your dad falling and yes, it is a hard battle between what one wants and what one needs/is best. We're through decorating too and are in the 'enjoying' it stage. I love Handel's Messiah and yes, it is fun to send boxes of goodies to the grands! There is much to enjoy during the holiday season!

    1. Barbara, I purchased those banks (and enough for all my grands) at a little non-electric Mennonite book store back in the summer while traveling. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them!

    1. Kathy, thank you for your concern over the emergency situation. The situation is better but unfortunately the person is not out of the woods yet. I think my grands will enjoy their goodie boxes from grandma and grandpa!
