Facing Financial Hardships
Day 2

Here's day 2 of our class on Facing Financial Hardships.  Throughout this class I'll be addressing the emotional side of financial hardships as well as the physical, in my opinion the emotional side can be just as debilitating.  Today, we start dealing with our emotions.

The range of emotions that you're experiencing range from shock to anger to disbelief to why did this have to happen to me.  You can’t even think about what to do, all you can think about is what’s going to happen if you can’t pay your bills and provide food for your family.

You imagine yourself homeless, losing everything you’ve worked so hard to have, having to move in with family or having to ask family and friends for help.  You are just devastated!

You give yourself a good mental shake and try to come up with a plan as to what to do next.  It’s a given that you’re going to be looking for another job and that you’re going to sign up for unemployment insurance but what next?

You have one more paycheck coming, how are you going to use it?
