ReplyDeleteOur Bi-Lo had bottom round roast on sale for $3.99 a pound so we went thinking they probably would not have any but they did! Also Boston butt pork roast for .99 a pound! We have been checking every store for frozen lemonade and limeade concentrate and had not found any but they had them and for a good price so we restocked on those and also butter for $2.50 a pound. The app had a 40x points bonus so we bought gas gift cards plus converted $200 of our home maintenance budget to gift cards for Lowe's and Home Depot. We were shocked to have earned over $77 in points which means that much in free groceries! I now have over $98 in free groceries available. I am still pinching myself!

Lana, I would be pinching myself too, that's a lot of free groceries! You made some good progress in the meat area for your pantry with all those meat purchases.
DeleteLana, you can easily make homemade lemonade using bottled lemon juice. The basic recipe is 1/2 cup each of sugar and lemon juice, and 3 1/4 cups of water. Mix well until the sugar dissolves, then refrigerate, or add ice cubes to make it cold. I usually double this recipe as my juice containers are big enough to do so. We buy bottled lemon juice at Costco which comes as 2 big bottles fir a really reasonable price. Of course, bottled lemon juice is also handy for cooking, baking and even some canning recipes call for it!

DeleteYour trellis is beautiful! I'm going to show my husband, but not so sure he will be as excited as I am about another project :). Later this evening I'll be picking beans and snapping them. I also need to do some cleaning today and general home-making stuff, but I'll be looking forward to getting in the garden all day.

ReplyDeleteI have one zucchini plant that is doing nicely, the rest not so much. My cucumbers and tomatoes are struggling, but my summer squash is doing marvelously!

I am impressed. It is winter here in Australia so we can't grow some of those veggies in our particular area as it is too cold but I am sure it is a different kettle of fish up north in the Tropics. What a harvest you will have.
