Hurricane Isaias Came and Went!

We've experienced several hurricanes in the years that we've lived in this area, but never have we experienced one that came through so quickly.  It took Isaias about 8 hours to sweep through our area dumping rain (we got 5 inches) with winds gusting up to 105 mph in some places. (Hurricane Florence took 4 days to sweep through!) Isaias as a quick mover was great but the fact that it came in at night was not so good.  One really needs to be able to keep an eye to the sky, trees and any flying debris if at all possible during a hurricane.  With Isaias we weren't able to do that and it added to the anxiety.

We had some really nasty weather, but thankfully never lost power.  Others around us and in surrounding towns were not so fortunate.  There were tornadoes in the area but other than debris on the yard, we don't seem to have any damage.  We are so thankful!

We've been busy helping others today and after last night, I'm a bit tired.  I'll get back to regular posting tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for our safety and checked on us, we are thankful to each of you.

Until the next post ...

  8. Our prayers were answered! I'm thankful y'all are safe and experienced no damage. Three years ago, Harvey hit us at night and it just added an extra level of uneasiness not to be able to see what was going on- we just had to sit there and listen.
