Finally, A Chance to Do Some Gardening!

Today was one of those kind of days I've been waiting for to be able to get some gardening done!  The temps were in the 60's and it didn't start raining until this afternoon so I made hay while it wasn't raining!

I planted spring onions in this half barrel!

I also planted the variety 'Candy' onions.  These are the ones I grew from seeds.  I amended half of this raised bed and planted 81 onion starts.  These are the ones that hopefully will grow into big onions.

Then it started raining and I had to call it a gardening day!

I found this calendar today also, every year I look for it and sadly don't always have success, but this year I found it.  This calendar gives planting dates, weather forecasts, etc.  The best part though, was that it was free!

Here's hoping I can get some more planting done tomorrow!

A Working Pantry

She looketh well to the ways of her household … Proverbs 31:27

My pantry is intentional, purposeful, simple, practical, frugal and what works for my family.  It’s the food items and household supplies that keep my household running smoothly ready and available when they are needed.  It’s my contribution to our family’s economy and my work-from-home ‘job.'

  1. Glad you're seeing some better weather. Here in the Chicago area, we're finally above freezing and should be there for about the next week. Love the calendar. May I ask where you got it?

    1. Lori, I got the calendar at a small mom and pop gardening store in a town near us.

  2. I just love your cinder block garden!

    1. Kathy, thank you! It is serving us well during all this rainy weather.
