Out With the Old and in With the New!

 Out with the old ...

carrots that we grew over winter ...
(I see a lot of carrot preserving in my near future.)

from this raised bed.

Still in the bed are Kings lima beans.  These lima beans will run up the arch and make a beautiful covering plus give us lots of yummy beans!  On the far end of the bed are garlic chives and on this end are flowers I planted yesterday.  I love having flowers and herbs tucked in corners and ends of my raised beds.  Not only are they beautiful but the herbs help deter pests and the flowers add beauty plus attract bees.

I'm debating on what to plant in the open space where the carrots were ... there are so many options ... I'll let you know what I decide!

To sum it up, out with the old means harvesting the carrots (the old) leaving the bed ready for 'new' plantings ... out with the old and in with the new!
