Welcome to this week's 'to-do' list and to the month of July! Let’s just say that I’m glad the month of June is behind us. It was not a good month for us …
~ a
significant fall for me
~ a
rather large, unexpected auto repair
~ phone
line getting cut by power company resulting in loss of home phone and internet services
(Isn't this a peaceful looking picture! I snapped it on one of our trips to a Mennonite settlement.)
Here's what my last 'to-do' list looked like (before
our phone line was accidently cut taking out our internet service) ...
Bible Study:
work on lesson 2 of the 'Knowing Our Enemy' Bible study I'm writing. Done!
Exercise:
Get in 5000 steps a day. I did it!
Harvest
and preserve the rest of our cabbage: I’m still
working on this!
Plant watermelon and
cantaloupe: Didn’t
get done!
Finish making over the
table that belonged to my mama: This is
almost done, I have just a few touch-ups to do and then it will be finished.
Stitch up a 'Santa Hat' sample block
for the 'Christmas in July' quilt I plan to make. Done!
In addition, I canned green beans, beets and
started more fermented garlic honey. I add
a tablespoon of fermented garlic honey to a cup of hot water, stir it up well
and sip on it most every evening. I
really like the taste and as a bonus, it’s good for me!
What’s on my to-do list for the upcoming week?
Bible Study: complete lesson 2 of the ‘Knowing Our Enemy’ Bible
study I’m writing. In lesson one we
explored where Satan came from and in lesson two, we’re looking at the strategies
he used against Eve.
Exercise: complete 60,000 steps this week
Finish preserving the rest
of our cabbage
Can tomatoes from our garden
Work on preserving potatoes
Work on preserving garlic
Start a jar of cider fire
Work on preserving onions
Harvest herbs
Finish touching up my mom’s
table
Christmas in July
Challenge: complete 4 Santa Hat
blocks
Hmmm, looking back on my to-do list for this
week, it looks like a lot, but when I break it down into small increments, it’ll
be very doable!

That's it for this week!

DeleteMy to do has been changed as yesterday we had s huge storm with 60 mile an hour wind gusts and hail the size of golf balls. A lot of the growing produce in the veggie garden got damaged the chard, sweet potato leaved and zucchini leaves now have huge holes in them from the hail. We have some clean up to do. My husband's birthday is the 4th. I' ll be baking him a quadruple recipe of his favorite brownies.
ReplyDeleteWe've begun harvesting some zucchini so soup base will be made for cream of zucchini soup for the freezer. Harvest more basil and make more pesto for the freezer
Harvest and preserve beets, and chard. Make cards for July birthdays, Continue embroidering pillowcases for Christmas gifts.
Cookie, I'm so sorry, I hope your garden recovers quickly. Sounds like you've got a full week.
