December 2022 Goals

Here we are on the first day of DECEMBER, the last month of the year and I'm all ready to kick this month off with some goals ...

I'm really put out with myself for the unbelievably poor job I have been doing of establishing better reading habits.  I'm not talking about online reading but actual 'hold in your hands' book reading.  I'm not giving up and will keep trying different ways until I find what works for me.  Here's what I'm trying this month ...

December 1 -3:  read 5 minutes a day.  DONE!

December 4 - 10:  read 10 minutes a day  DONE!

December 11 - 17:  read 15 minutes a day

December 18-31: read 20 minutes a day

Choose 10 items every day to declutter from my home.  Living in a small house, staying on top of clutter is extremely important and this time of year with all the festivities going on, it's really easy to let clutter get out of control.

December 1st:  DONE!

December 2nd:  DONE!

December 3rd:  Didn't Get Done!

December 4th - 10th:  DONE!

You know this one was coming!!! My fitness journey challenge for the month is to weigh the same minus that pesky four tenths of a pound that keeps showing up, as I did the first day of the month.

That's all the goals I'm going to set for this month as I want to focus on enjoying the holiday season!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Until next time,

A Working Pantry is a way of life, a lifestyle if you will!

My pantry is intentional, purposeful, simple, practical, frugal and what works for my family.  It’s the food items and household supplies that keep my household running smoothly ready and available when they are needed.  It’s my contribution to our family’s economy and my work-from-home ‘job.'

  1. I admire your fitness goal. I had a real nosedive Wednesday. Need to follow your example. Slow and steady wins the race. Or whatever that saying is.
I did get back to sewing a quilt as you go quilt. I prefer this method to machine quilting larger quilts. I plan to try the serpentine method, that you showed, for smaller quilts. The results were very nice.

    1. Ellie, keeping the weight off is very important to me so I try to stay on top of any weight gain, no matter how small. Slow and steady is what worked for me.

It's been a long time since I've done a quilt as you go quilt, hmmmm, I need to refresh that skill! Thanks for the reminder!

  2. PS. I love the little quilted tress and plan to print out the pattern and instructions. Great idea!

  3. I read the last hour of the day usually in bed. Mother, Pop and Daddy all ready for at least 30 minutes before bed.

    1. Chef Owings, that's a good time to read, if only I could stay awake long enough!!
