Goals for 2023

Another day greets us in this new year.  Like many of you, plans for what I’d like to achieve and the direction I want my life to go this year run through my mind throughout the day.  While I set goals and put in motion steps to achieve those goals, I realize that I won’t always be in control of what happens in my life.  By making goals I set the direction I’d like my life to take fully understanding that life happens and sometimes those things that we intended to do or wanted to do change and have to be set aside.  Knowing and accepting this put’s goal setting in its proper place, a tool to benefit us in our journey throughout the year but not something set in stone that’s going to destroy our world if not achieved.

With this mindset, I’m sharing my goals for 2023 …

  1. I haven't really thought that far because we keep getting sick. We are treating everything with oils but in five days we have had the common cold and now the flu. Ugh! There is a sweet little grandchild having his first birthday party on Saturday and we had planned to go but maybe not.

I like that your goals are realistic. And enriching. More flowers and reading would add so much to nearly anyone's life... even a grump!

I love your challenges and savings games. Two of our accounts took big hits and I'm sweating a bit. We're already stretched pretty thin, but I think I can manage the games. The checkbook, for sure. The 52 card? I stopped at 26. Maybe I can increase it at some point, but I don't want to fail at the starting gate. So, $4.19 went into savings and $24 is my first Monday draw. My pantry addition was 10 bottles of no sugar, no HFCS ketchup for $1/32 oz. It's normally over $4 so this was a great find.

    Love your purple rose!

    1. Debby, I like that you adapted the 52 card challenge to suit what will work for you right now. I agree, if we make our challenges unrealistic, we'll fail at the beginning and lose the will to try.

You did great with the ketchup!!! Way to go!!!

  3. Sounds like wonderful plans. My biggest goal is to get fully healed from knee replacement surgery. It’s been my most painful and difficult surgery by far.

    1. Lee Ann, I'm so sorry, you're wise to focus on getting completely over the knee replacement surgery. That does indeed need to be your main focus!

  4. Sounds like you have realistic and attainable goals. I also agree you can never have too many roses. Working on 2 raised beds is also one of my goals; I want to use those to establish some strawberries plants and maybe some blueberry bushes.

    1. Stacie, I hope you get your raised beds done, as soon as our weather opens up, we'll get to work on ours.
