Storing Sewing Supplies: Scraps

In this post I showed you how I turned a gallon pickle jar into storage for ribbon. Today, I'm going to show you how I turned old metal popcorn tins into storage bins for my fabric scraps.
(Special thanks to my friend, Pama, for helping me track these popcorn tins down!)

A larger one (I still have one more of this size to paint.)

I painted each can with black spray paint that I got on clearance a couple of months ago.
The jute is some I had on hand,  I just wrapped it around the can just above the groove and tied a knot. The labels were given to me by Annabel ... all the way from Australia.
I am quite pleased with the way they turned out.  Now my fabric scraps have a pretty place to hang out until they're used!
How do you store your fabric scraps?
