    1. Sue, thank you! The fabric was gifted to me by an online friend, and I made an apron out of it! It's my 'company's coming' 'special occasion' apron!!!

  3. Frugal ways in the kitchen!

I was going through items brought back from Mom's house and discovered a recipe box that was my Grandmother's. There are printed recipe cards from the Washburn Flour Company who made Gold Medal flour. They are Allied Victory recipes from WW2. They are thrifty like meatless pot pie and a loaf made with a cup of meat bits and Knox gelatin---shudder. I am looking forward to looking more closely at Grandma's hand written recipes. They are all written on cards that were hand cut from thin cardboard. Some are three to a card to save cards. This was an unexpected find!

    1. Lana, what a treasure! I would be taking a closer look at them too. If there comes a time when you would think about sharing some of them, I would be interested in being a recipient.

    2. I will keep that in mind and send you some pictures of the cards

  4. Hmmm...some common distractions would be news (and similar stressors) and comparison traps (via social media or elsewhere) and possibly commitments outside the home (however honorable). I think these can inhibit productivity and contentment in our homes and preparedness efforts. So in combination with your other clues, I'm thinking it has to do with focusing on the work God has given us with the supplies he has provided. Am I getting close??
