From the Archives: My Favorite Canning Books ...

Now's the time to plan and prepare for canning season and that includes considering what 'how to preserve food' books you have at your disposal.

Are you starting from scratch when it comes to collecting knowledge on preserving foods?

Do you have several tried and true favorites that you use year after year?

From time to time I get asked what my favorite canning/preserving books are, so I thought we would dig back in the archives and revisit my answer to this question from an earlier post ...

  1. When my Grandmother passed away my mom grabbed two of her "Kerr Canning" books from the 1940's. They are little books that used to be ordered from the company. One of them even has a message on it that notifies that due to the war some jars and seals will not be available! They have great information and even some very old recipes that are hard to find these days. Enjoyed reading about your books.

    1. Kathy, how interesting about the Kerr Canning books!

  2. So Easy to Preserve

    Putting Food By
The Complete Book of Small-Batch Preserving

    1. Some of those I haven't heard about so I'm going to check them out!!
