It's supposed to get really cold in our area in a couple of days so I've been making sure everything is as it should be in case there is a power outage. There is some uncertainty for the weekend as the chance for rain is in the forecast towards the middle/end of the week and depending on the timing ice could be a possibility. Hence, the preparations ... just in case!
In and around piling extra wood on the porch and making sure all the laundry is done up, we did a few Christmas things as well, like ...

Merry Christmas and Happy New year! Hilogene in Az
ReplyDeleteHilogene, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
DeleteBless you for making that pumpkin pie. We are considering the weather too and adjusting our schedule as well. Losing power is one thing with only two of us but we are thinking about being here with eleven and no power. That is a different ballgame altogether.
ReplyDeleteLana, no power with 11 people in the house is a different ballgame for sure!!! Your planning ahead for the possibility will help tremendously though!
DeleteThere is a super good deal on walnuts today. Amazon Brand - Happy Belly California Walnuts, Halves and Pieces, 40 Ounce https://a.co/d/fxgqZqO
ReplyDeleteLana, thank you!
DeleteThat is still a good deal today 12/21 as well. I put four bags in my cart. That should do me for about the whole year. Thank you for sharing Lana!
DeleteEven way down here in Tampa we will be in the teens and twenties, i think. twenties anyway. Gonna be a cold one for sure. Everyone stay warm!!!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, Brrrr! This one is affecting lots of people! Stay warm!
DeletePrepping here in Wisconsin for 5-8" snow followed by 25-40 mph winds with sub-zero temperatures and wind chill temperatures around -20 degrees. Propane tanks filled, gas can for the generator filled. Made meals that are easy to reheat today. Praying we don't have power outage such as we endured following last week's storm (out for nearly 20 hours).
ReplyDeleteShepheress55, it sounds like you've prepared well, praying that you don't lose power. Stay safe and warm.
DeleteWe are wet and cold today and meant to have that arctic plunge over Christmas as well. I'm planning to run to the store to get more milk, some loaf bread and a couple of Christmas dinner items just in case we have weather that isn't fit to drive in. We've just checked that the bulb in the pumphouse is working and wrapped the outdoor faucets. I need to refresh my supply of water in the jugs over the next day so we'll have fresh just in case. Thank goodness we have gas heater and stove.
ReplyDeleteTerri, we're doing the same type of things! Stay safe and warm!
