~ from my home to yours ... ~
I love our little home, it's perfect for us! There's warmth and love within its walls and yes, mason jars, home preserved foods, herbs, books, WIP projects, lots of snuggly quilts, a swing on the front porch and a rocking chair nearby! We call it home and we call ourselves blessed. We give God the glory for He has had and continues to have His hand in it all!

November 2026 Pantry Challenge: Week #1

For the month of November, we are focusing on 2 areas of our pantry again:

The first is meats or sources of protein if you're not a meat eater.   The meat can be home-canned, purchased in a can from the store, fresh meat or dried.

The second is anything related to baking.  Think holiday baking, what do you need to do your holiday baking.  If you already have everything on hand that you need, then plan to restock now when baking products are on sale.

You get to choose, one or the other or both.  It goes without saying that we want to stock up in these areas at the best possible price so let’s look for those bargains and share, share, share!

Here's one I found the last day of October and a great example of what we're going for this month ...

Until the next time ...

  1. Waiting for the price of turkeys to come down so I can it. Our 2 hogs we bought will be processed when the temps go down, closer to the end of the month. Steer will be butchered late Dec/early Jan to be canned also. Decided to pick up two chickens once a month to serve one as roasted and the other canned.

  3. We got four rolls of our favorite Swaggertys sausage for $2.98 each which is $2 off the regular price. Also Lidl had their 22 oz packages of bacon on sale for 3.99 so two of those and five salmon filets for 12.99. We try to eat fish once or twice a week and it has gotten so expensive so I was happy to see salmon for that price.

In the baking department we added a five pound bag of White Lily bread flour for 3.48. I am hoping for a BOGO on that over the holidays so we can get well stocked. Also a bag of Monk fruit sweetener which is what I am using for muffins right now

  4. I love this month’s challenge. Using the flash food app now available in my area I was able to pick up a pound of ground pork and 2 packages of chicken sausage all for $10. The regular store price was $21. Marley in the Mountains

  5. I have no idea what I will stock up on though I do need flour. Wednesday's ads will determine what I choose.

  6. What a great November challenge, Patsi! Focusing on meats and baking supplies just before the holidays is so smart — stocking up now while prices are good makes the season so much less stressful. I love the Grandma Pantry picture too. Here's to a well-stocked, peaceful November!
