30 Day Preserving Challenge: Day 23: Candy ... Say What!!!!

Yes ma'am and sir, you read it right!  I'm going to share how I preserved candy today …

We found this bag of candy on clearance for $4.91, regular price $11.68, at Sam's Club.  I purchased it for the purpose of preserving it … how, you say???

Like this, I simply vacuum sealed it in clean, dry jars.  I do this all the time when I find candy on a really good sale or clearance.  I've had it to last up to a year and still be just as good as when I vacuum sealed it in the jars.

How will I use this candy?
Chopped up into small pieces and added to cookie dough, as a snack and to take to potluck meals and gatherings (One time I took Snickers bars out of their wrapper, sliced them into approximately 1/4 inch slices, arranged them on a pretty dish and served them at a gathering.  I had several people ask me what it was and commented that it was so good!  I chuckled and revealed my secret!!!)

Let me say here that I will store these jars in my pantry way back in the back on a high shelf, can anyone guess why I would do that????

  1. Dear Patsi,
What a bargain! I love your ideas for using the candy and I'm snickering at your potluck story (sorry, I had to;). I know you keep it on the top shelf so people like me won't eat it all in a matter of days lol.
