She looketh well to the ways of her household … Proverbs 31:27
A Working Pantry is a way of life, a lifestyle if you will!
My pantry is intentional, purposeful, simple, practical, frugal and what works for my family. It’s the food items and household supplies that keep my household running smoothly ready and available when they are needed. It’s my contribution to our family’s economy and my work-from-home ‘job.'

Great tip, Patsi. I know all the details you mentioned about the main store I shop at (and one or two others). One thing I would add is that I have their app downloaded on my phone. I use this as my base, so to speak, if I am in an unfamiliar store and need to compare prices.
ReplyDeleteKelsey, yes, the apps are a great tool! Thanks for adding that tip!!
DeleteThis is indeed helpful and important. For our salvage stores it is best to follow them on Facebook so that I know when they get in our favorites and bread deliveries. Last week I earned a $10 off coupon by posting about the store and telling what I liked about it. I would not have known if I did not keep up with them everyday. And wow, $10 there will buy a bunch of food!
ReplyDeleteLike Kelsey, I find the apps to be very helpful and especially for digital coupons. One has to have the app at Lidl to get the good prices and Publix often has free items in their ecoupons. Ibotta is a must have app to get the deals there. The Walmart app is handy to check to see if grocery items are in stock.
Lana, following them on FB is another good tip as is the info about Lidl and Publix. All great tips! Thanks!
DeleteThis post reaffirms my recent thoughts that I need to ask where the Harris Teeter clearance sections are, as I've never seen any. I only stop there once a month, after an appointment, but this would be good to know. I know where the section is at Food Lion, but never seem to find anything I'm interested in, as it mostly seems to be processed foods. I see people mention clearance items at Aldi, such as dairy, but I never see those either. Perhaps our store is too small? Good topic.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, what we're finding is that it really depends on the store or sometimes the store manager!
DeleteMy Aldi clearance is where the item is regularly with big red stickers on them marked down.
DeleteKnow if your stores offer a “senior” day when people over that certain age get an additional discount. If it applies, try to do the bulk of your shopping that day to get the additional discount.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, that's an excellent tip!!! Thank you!
DeleteYes! I schedule my appointment, so I can shop at Harris Teeter on a Thursday, their day for senior discounts.
