~ from my home to yours ... ~
I love our little home, it's perfect for us! There's warmth and love within its walls and yes, mason jars, home preserved foods, herbs, books, WIP projects, lots of snuggly quilts, a swing on the front porch and a rocking chair nearby! We call it home and we call ourselves blessed. We give God the glory for He has had and continues to have His hand in it all!

What's In the Bucket?

I headed out to the garden this morning with an empty 5-gallon bucket ...

first to go in the bucket were these bell peppers ...
There's enough of these to do stuffed bell peppers for the freezer.

jalapeno peppers went in next ...
These will be chopped and frozen to add to soups, stews and casseroles.

one lone decorative squash was added next ...
It's going to take its place in fall decorations.

a few sweet banana peppers followed ...
These will be chopped and frozen for use in soups, stews and casseroles too.

a couple of big bertha bell peppers were added ...
I'll add these to the ones first mentioned and make stuffed bell peppers for the freezer.

finishing off with okra!
There was more okra than anything else, in fact there's enough to chop and freeze for use this winter in soups and stews or as a side dish.

There was not a lot of any one thing, but it all counts and is gratefully accepted with a thankful heart!

My pantry is intentional, purposeful, simple, practical, frugal and what works for my family.  It’s the food items and household supplies that keep my household running smoothly ready and available when they are needed.  It’s my contribution to our family’s economy and my work-from-home ‘job.'

  1. That's great! We had 10 grape tomatoes and 3 banana peppers. Everything is really about done here.

    1. Lana, we still have a few things from the summer garden that are still producing but the majority of it is done.
