Blogmas 2022: 12/8 and 12/9

Yesterday it felt like we were in 'crisis' mode all day long and I simply had nothing to give by the end of the day.  Hence, I didn't post. (Tracking down a needed medication when there is a national shortage of it, is stressful!  We found a one-month supply and it cost over $500, not to mention the gas and added expense of going to get it.  The drug shortage you may or may not have heard about is real!!!  Next month we get to do this all over again!)  We give God the glory for helping us find a pharmacy that could fill the prescription for the drug.  He truly does go before us and provide a way!

Today, was better and I was able to get back to my normal routine.

Yesterday, we listened to Christmas music as we were on the road most of the day.  Today, I was able to stay home, I am a homebody anyway, but after yesterday, I didn't want to go anywhere today, period!

Today, I finished the binding on the second cuddle quilt.  I am so very pleased with these Christmas cuddle quilts and while my original goal was to have them completed and in the mail by the first of December, life happened, and I just couldn't get them done.  It's okay, I'm not going to beat myself up about it.  Hopefully, the grands will have these for several years to enjoy during the Christmas season!

Our grandson gets the Grinch ...

And our granddaughters get different variations of Santa!

I washed them after they were completed to get that crinkly look.  They are not perfect, but they were made with lots of love!

I also did another canner of collards today and helped hubby work on the window installation in the kitchen.  The inside is finished except for painting!  It's been a busy day, and I'm tired, but it's such a self-satisfying kind of tired ... if you know what I mean!!!

Until tomorrow!

Merry Christmas from us to you!

A Working Pantry is a way of life, a lifestyle if you will!

My pantry is intentional, purposeful, simple, practical, frugal and what works for my family.  It’s the food items and household supplies that keep my household running smoothly ready and available when they are needed.  It’s my contribution to our family’s economy and my work-from-home ‘job.'

  1. Oh Patsy! That is terrible about the meds! And they jacked up the price because of the shortage? I hate that this will be next month, too.

The quilts are wonderful! I am sure the kids will use them all wnter!

    1. Lana, the med is normally over $800 per month with our insurance, but we were able to find a coupon that knocked $300 off, making it $534. We normally get it at another pharmacy that is income based for $13 per month, but they were out and didn't know when they would get any so we had to find it at a non-income based pharmacy! There is quite a bit of difference in the price! It's all good though, it's times like this that I thank God for my well-stocked pantry. We have everything we need and are well! You can't put a price on that!

  2. Ugh! I hurt for those who cannot get the meds they need at an affordable price. My heart goes out to you. The quilts are beautiful and I'd bet they are cherished for years to come.
