Definitely not for the faint of heart. I am glad you had a vision - I can't imagine that I would have except for maybe the land.
ReplyDeleteHow many people said "Are you crazy?" when you guys bought this! LOL
Cheryl, LOL ... lots of people did!!!
DeleteYou are one strong woman! But it will be so great to not have a Mortgage.
ReplyDeleteKim, the verdict is still out on that, but determined I am!
DeleteSuch a tease
ReplyDelete0:)
DeleteI'm hoping that the condition of the house made the purchase a real deal!! 🤔😄😄
ReplyDeletegardenpat, we paid $3000 for the property. We were thrilled to get it for that as everything we could find was going for $10,000 acre.
DeletePatsy you are a tease.
ReplyDelete0:)
DeletePatsy, this is a wonderful story, and so real! Yes, I think I would do something like this under your circumstances. I like tiny settlers cottages in Australia. For you, this might be similar to historic cabins. If you manage the basics, you'll feel so rich when aspects of the modern world begin to crumble.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Rachel Holt

Deletedon't take too long to show us chapter 3. things like this inspire people.
ReplyDeleteYou were fortunate to have a husband who shared your vision. Mine would have laughed and said, "No, thank you!" I can't wait to see if you were able to salvage any of that or had to start over from scratch.
ReplyDeleteGlenda, it was his idea, his vision, I went along with him on this project!!!!
DeleteMORE!! MORE! MORE! this is exciting! Most folks would never have dreamed of doing anything with the house.
