30 Day Preserving Challenge: Day 8, cherries

We found a good sale on cherries this week and as a result we've been giving our little cherry pitter a workout!

cherries canned in apple cider …

cherry pie filling …

and cherries for smoothies!

This will be all the cherries we preserve this year, unless someone gives us some for free!

  1. I always enjoy your posts, they are a look ahead to our season--very inspirational! Those cherries in cider look intriguing...do you add sugar? and are they pie or sweet cherries? Thank you

  2. Mmmm...cherries! I love them! The best I've found so far was $2.99/lb. I'm hoping it gets down a little more. Maybe later in the month!

    1. Jenn, we found these on sale for $1.98/lb. That's about as low as they go in our area.
