Working On Those Winter Preps!

Gleaning sweet potatoes for our winter larder ...

Stocking the pantry shelves with dehydrated vegetables ... carrots and okra

I added these home-canned goods to the pantry shelves ...

.... along with the chicken I canned yesterday ...

I started two tinctures for my medicinal pantry ...
(1) nettles
(2) elderberry

We are working very hard to prepare for the upcoming winter doing what we can with what we have to work with ... I hope you are too!

Remember, every little bit helps!

Until next time,

  1. Love it! You are going to be ready for all the cold weather they are predicting. There is nothing like being all cozy inside while the cold presses in and the wind blows.

Yesterday in Sam's we asked about their TP which they had none of and were told that they are not getting any or a very small amount; They usually get 20 pallets and they are getting 5 at most in a shipment. The employee told us it is made just 40 minutes from here and he did not know what is going on. I also saw a Youtuber in NY whose Sam's does not have it either. So I hope we are not in for another year of grab the TP no matter what the price. I think for now we will stop in every time we are near there and check.
