Here's where I left off in the last post sharing where we were in our greenhouse repair and expansion project …
The first arch and purlins had been put up …
We kept on cutting PVC pipe …
and joining PVC pipe to connect the old purlin from the old greenhouse to the new purlin we were putting up ...
and tying them together using wire and fencing plyers …
until we got this far ...
we were exhausted and decided to call it a day!

My pantry is intentional, purposeful, simple, practical, frugal and what works for my family. It’s the food items and household supplies that keep my household running smoothly ready and available when they are needed. It’s my contribution to our family’s economy and my work-from-home ‘job.'

Patsy the greenhouse is looking fabulous and I appreciate the time and work that has gone into it.
ReplyDeleteThe greenhouse surviving the tornadoes you have there was the reason I asked how you secured the PVC pipe at the bottom as I knew it must have been robust to survive :) .
We are shortly going to be building a garden enclosure made from recycled materials being ironbark upright posts, galvanised metal pipe for the top and chicken wire we salvaged from pulling down the vineyard garden beds. Fortunately it is getting a little cooler here being winter to get more done in the gardens.
Have a great week ahead and don't work too hard :) .

Lorna, we've used a lot of recycled stuff in this project too, it saves money and just makes sense. I wish you much luck with your enclosed garden project, sounds like you have about everything you need.
Deletewow you won't know yourselves once you start using it;
ReplyDeletewe have no need for 'green houses' here being a warm climate but we do need shade houses though.
looking forward to seeing the finished project
thanx for sharing
Selina, we are anxious to get it finished and put it to use. We need shade cloth too during our summer months as it gets so hot here.
DeleteAll of your hard work will be paid off in wonderful vegetables. Great job.
ReplyDeleteMaking Cents Of It All, the plan is to be able to grow in it year round.
DeleteWow you are doing great that is such a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteOut My Window, it is hard work, but for us the end justifies the means!
