Greenhouse Repair and Expansion: Part 9

We are getting very close to being ready to add the greenhouse film covering but before we could/can do that we had to do this …

This is where we left you last time …

This is the view from the back looking toward the front after we had removed all the old back structure.

Hubby is drilling holes to install rebar to help secure the greenhouse to the ground.

Hammering in the rebar

One down, five more to go!

We worked hard to get the new 'back' of the greenhouse replaced.

Hubby cut out and framed a place for a fan to be installed so that when needed we can turn it on and draw out heat from inside.  This will help regulate the temperature inside during hot days.

Here's where we finished today.
The outside of the back is painted with the door attached.  We can open and close the little opening/door according to the need.

We have several little things to finish up then it'll be time to install the greenhouse film covering.  We are on track to finish this project up this week!

  1. Looking good! You two are so smart and have thought of everything! When you mentioned the rebar I was picturing your greenhouse flying away in a storm and now it won't happen.

  2. I am definitely enjoying this series and watching you and your husband build a greenhouse. Taking notes. So hoping to build my own one day. Thanks. Cindy Jane

  3. Patsy,

Love your work. I would keep an eye out for a metal screen door with adjustable up and down built in window screen. I have a fan in my greenhouse but by using the window feature I almost never need the fan even in 100 degree Georgia heat.
Good luck with the rest of the work
