Vinegar-Based BBQ Sauce

My 'just one' goal for this week was to make vinegar-based BBQ sauce, so this afternoon I took some time and did just that.   (Setting a goal each week helps me be intentional and to look for an opportunity to get it done.)

Here's the recipe that I use ...

Vinegar Based BBQ Sauce

10 ½ cups apple cider vinegar
8 oz. black pepper
2 ½ teaspoons dry mustard
5 ¼ tablespoons red pepper flakes
8 oz. salt
10 oz. Worcestershire sauce

Mix all together really well and place in glass jar/container.
Let set for 2 weeks before using.
Shake well before each use.
Label, date and store in a cool place (I store mine in the refrigerator for space reasons.)

Strain and bottle after the two weeks!

We love this on pulled pork, chicken and turkey!

    1. It's vinegar based so will last a long time. When I make it I try to make enough to last us around the 6 month mark but have had some last up to a year.

  2. This looks lovely and easy - curious to try it as no sugar or honey in it which my usual recipe has.

    1. Julia, it is easy and we really like the taste. It is not a thick sauce though so a little goes a long way.
